Mentor Program
Bethel Lutheran's mentor program is incorporated into our confirmation program. A Mentor is a trusted counselor or guide. A mentor is an individual, usually older, always more experienced, who helps and guides another individual's development. This guidance is not done for personal gain.
Our mentor program is formally for youth in their 7-9th grade years of school. They choose one mentor that they will have throughout the three years of formal confirmation education.
Confirmation Students: This is an important relationship. Choose someone you want to spend time with, someone you respect, who you wish to be at your school activities, someone who is not a relative. Students please realize that your mentor may be unsure how to be comfortable with a Jr. High youth. Greet them when you see them. Pray for them.
Respected Mentors
Please be the adult in the relationship - if you have not heard from the student, check in with them. Also, realize that the student has picked you as an important, trusted and admired Christian adult. Please, take that seriously. If you can, attend their extra-curricular events at school, periodically
write them a letter or postcard to encourage them
(9th grade is not an easy time), take them out for ice cream, pray for them, etc.For an additional mentor booklet, please click on them below.
