May minutes were approved with an amendment to #3 under New Business. The phrase "through August 31, 2008" should be added to the end.

Old Business:

Dawn will take care of the Beacon and bulletin announcements for Music in the Park which will take place July 9, 2008.

There will be no Relay for Life team from Bethel this year due to the time frame. We plan on appointing a committee to organize a Bethel team for 2009.

New Business:

A brochure on what Bethel has to offer is in the works. Dawn is handing out rough drafts to members of the congregation so they can add things they would like to see listed. We’re hoping to have copies ready to go before New Member Sunday takes place in the fall. We’re also still planning a Bethel 101 course to take place in the fall with a meal served.

Budget 2009 was discussed. For 2008 we were allowed $2000. So far we’ve spent $166.67 on the Lenten meal and will be giving $240 to Wayne Braaten to attend the Global Missions seminar. For 2009, we feel we’d like to request $2000 once again.

The Board of Stewardship has created a Focus Month Campaign. Any money that is raised above and beyond pledges will go to various boards. As a board, we need to decide what month we would like and what we want the money for. Because Global Missions is part of our board, Judy requested possibly asking for the month of April since the Maundy Thursday offering has typically gone to Global Missions.

Rev. Sara Larson Tate (from Walcott) and her husband Noel will be doing a CAR presentation tentatively set for Sunday, October 26, 2008. We would like to have a meal included with the presentation.

Wayne Braaten is planning on attending the 20th Global Mission Seminar in LaCrosse, WI , July 17-20, 2008. We will put forth his $240 registration fee.

June 11, 2008 is the date for the Drive-In-Diner Car Show to be held at Bethel. July 9, 2008 is when the contemporary service band will be playing down at the park.

Our next meeting will be Tuesday, July 8 @ 6:00 p.m. at the church. Mary Jo will be the devotion leader.
