Music

Bethel Choir

Do you want to share your God-given musical talents with the folks at Bethel? I have a couple of answers for you!

The Bethel Choir meets for rehearsal on the 1st, 3rd, and 4th Sundays each month at 8 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall, and sings at the following 9 a.m. service. We sing a variety of SATB, SAB, and occasionally 2 part songs. If you’re intimidated because you don’t read music well, we’ll help you out. Elizabeth Lasch is our faithful accompanist.

The Bethel Handbell Choir meets on Mondays at 5:15 p.m. in the Sanctuary. We play at the 9 am service (8 a.m. rehearsal) on the 2nd Sunday of the month (usually) from October to April. Currently we have 9 ringers which is a full 2 ½ octave choir. We  would love to have 2 more ringers to fit our 3 octaves of bells! Again, don’t be intimidated by lack of musical experience. Of course it’s easier if you have played piano or a musical instrument but we have had ringers with no experience. And we make it work!

Usually the ages are from high school to senior citizens. That may be difficult for families. In the past, some families brought elementary kids along and they sang along or played in the background. We do whatever we can to be inclusive. We really need some younger people to join in and I know there is talent for both groups waiting in the wings!

As always, thank you to our Bethel musicians and I’m looking forward to new faces as well!
